Genoa City is a village straddling the Wisconsin–Illinois border in Walworth County, located near the Chain O' Lakes region of northeastern Illinois. The area's rural and suburban character supports a wide variety of mature trees — oaks, maples, cottonwoods, and willows dominate the landscape. Tree Care Enterprises has served Genoa City and the broader Lake Geneva area since 1978.
Emerald ash borer has been active throughout Walworth County for several years, and many ash trees in Genoa City have reached the threshold where treatment is no longer effective. Our ISA Certified Arborists can assess ash trees and help property owners decide between EAB treatment — effective when roughly 50% or less of the canopy remains healthy — and safe removal before a structurally compromised tree becomes a hazard. We use trunk injection treatments including emamectin benzoate (Tree-Äge), which provides two to three years of coverage per application.
The Genoa City area's proximity to both the Illinois state line and Chain O' Lakes creates a unique mix of environmental pressures — wet soils along waterways, open-grown trees susceptible to wind loading, and insect pressure from both states. Our crews are equipped to handle complex removals, large stump grinding, and emergency response following wind or ice events.
