1978

Our Beginning

John Richards founded Tree Care Enterprises after earning his Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Michigan Technological University. Starting as a one-man operation, John quickly expanded the company with the addition of Doug Edwards, now Vice President of Operations.

1988

Early Expansion

We expanded into landscape design and installation, adding services like patios, retaining walls, ponds, and landscape lighting.

1990

New Service Offerings

Entered the irrigation and maintenance industry through the acquisition of Forest Hills Grounds Management assets.

2000

Acquisitions

Tree Care Enterprises acquired Forsgren Landscaping, bringing on experienced employees and opening new opportunities for growth.

2007

Award Winning Work

Earned Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) Accreditation, a prestigious recognition reserved for companies adhering to the highest industry standards.

2008

Strength in Safety

Strengthened our commitment to safety and training with the Certified Tree Care Safety Program (CTSP) and the formation of an employee safety committee.

2015

Green Initiatives

Launched our "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle" initiative, transforming tree trimmings and brush into clean, high-quality mulch and topsoil for our landscaping projects.
